10" Dobsonian
We rent this telescope out for our friend Hubert. Even if you don`t know Hubert you have to love his uncomplicated but high-quality telescope. The 2" eyepieces provides a 2 degree field of view - perfect for an unhurried wander through the star clouds and clusters of the milky way.
The optical system is identical to the one Martin Berkmaier (Intercon Spacetec) built into his Galaxy D10 Dobsonian. The zero-expansion main mirror was built to specification in Germany with a Strehl measurement of 0,95 (Wolfgang Rohr, Hassfurt). The Dobsonian has a 2" helical Crayford focuser (Gerd-Neumann jnr., Hamburg) and a 1 1/4" adapter. There are fittings for a Telrad finder or a finderscope up to 68 mm diameter. A rod and moveable counterweight attached to the truss-tube ensures perfect balance with any kind of accessories (Minimum: Telrad or finderscope Maximum: Telrad plus about 1.4 kg for finderscope and eyepiece).
The renter supplies their own finder and 1,25" or 2" eyepieces.
