Fornax-51 mount with FS2-controls
made by Michael Koch (30 V version):
GoTo mount, high precision and rigidity.
With manual controls and serial cable for optional remote control in GoTo mode via software GUIDE 6.0/7.0/8.0 or TheSky 5.0/6.0
The mount can be guided via an interface by all CCD cameras (ST-7E bis ST-2000XM) in self-guide mode. Note: Software, notebook and CCD-cameras are not included and have to be supplied by the user, if desired!
Information about the mount
The mount is perfectly southern-aligned. The high precision of the Fornax-51 mount is resulting in periodic error of not more than ± 8 arc seconds. That means: Up to a focal length of about 500mm the mount can be operated without any guidance control or correction!

Use is tied to a rental and use agreement which can be downloaded here as a PDF file.
Since the entire range of equipment has a value of about
€ 15.000 rental will be done to experienced amateurs.
Mounting of the user's own telescopes is not possible but on request in accordance to an agreement.
If you are interested in renting the observatory, we kindly ask you to make printout of the instructions for use which provide necessary information about running the observatory and switching the optics. Please read these informations carefully.
Users must supply the following accessories
Any optics for the mount with an Losmandy-clamp connection. You can also rent a telescope.
(Additional eyepieces, prisms, filters, etc.).
SBIB CCD camera and accessories if desired.
Notebook and telescope guiding program GUIDE or TheSky.
